What are the Rights of the Domestic Workers?

According to the UAE Government Policy on domestic helpers, the following rights are provided to domestic workers:

  • Payment within 10 Days from the Due Date

  • The Ministry will try to find a solution that satisfies both parties within 2 weeks. If the dispute is not solved within 2 weeks duration, then the case will be moved to the competent court.
  • If the domestic worker files the complaint, then it will get exempted from court fees during all the required stages of litigation, moreover, the case will get promptly heard in the court.

What are the Exempted Categories of Maid Visa Sponsorship Rules?

According to the executive regulation of Federal Law No. 10 of 2017 on Domestic Workers, “expatriate residents cannot hire a domestic helper unless on temporary basis and not being under his/her sponsorship under provisions set by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation”.

What is Prohibited as per the UAE Domestic Worker Law?

As per the information given in the Federal Decree Law No. 9 of 2022 Concerning Domestic Workers, the following things are strictly prohibited:
